I Still Want Eto'o, Not
Benzema - Galliani
Adriano Galliani has
revealed that his
dream is to sign
Samuel Eto'o for AC Milan
and also ruled any possibility
of the club making an
approach of Karim
Benzema.
The Rossoneri's vice president
still wants to see
Barcelona's Cameroonian
forward playing for his
club, despite a failed
attempt to sign him during
the summer.
When the Blaugrana
announced that Eto'o could
leave, Galliani travelled to
the Catalan capital to open
talks and although they did
not succeed, he still wants
the player.
"If I could, then I would
sign Eto'o," Sport quote
him as saying. "In the summer
I went to Barcelona,
they asked for €50 million
and I quickly returned to
Milan."
Galliani then ruled out
the Italian giants from
entering what will be a
heavyweight contest to
sign Benzema from Lyon
next summer, as he
believes the player is overpriced.
"Benzema is a good player,
but is very expensive
and will stay where he is.
There are so many player
that want to join Milan that
we can be selective," the
Milan director explained.
"He is a great forward,
young and strong, but he
does not interest us and we
do not want to bother
Lyon."
No Operaton For
Huntelaar
Ajax captain Klaas
Jan Huntelaar will
not undergo an
operation on his torn
ankle tendon.
After deliberating with
medics, the 25-year-old
Holland striker has opted
to let the ankle heal naturally
rather than go under
the knife.
He is expected to be
sidelined until the winter
break, whereas surgery
would have kept him out
of action for around three
months.
The former Heerenveen
frontman sustained the
problem during the 5-2
Eredivisie win over
Sparta Rotterdam on
November 9.
