Bank Staff Regains Freedom as Court Hears Case
An Onitsha High Court presided over by his lordship, Hon. Justice V. N. Umeh has granted bail to a bank staff, Mr. Elis Enobakhare who was implicated in a billion van robbery involving Intercontinential Bank Plc travelling from Onitsha main branch to Awka before the incident.

The accused, Mr. Enobakhare, was among the two staff of the bank who were accompanieds the vehicle at the time of the attack. In his exparte-motion brought befor the court, in suit No. 0/432m/2008 counsel for the accused, Chief C. O. Ezeanowai- Obiezu prayed the court to consider the fundamental human rights enforcement procedure rules under section 46 of the 1999 constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

The legal luminary argued that the accused, Mr. Elis Enobakhare being a citizen of Nigeria has the right to freedom of movement, as such should be gueranteed that freedom pending the time the court decides his case. After examining the argument of the counsel, Chief C.O. Ezeanowai- Obiezu, the presiding judge, Hon. Justice V. N Umeh urged the respondents which include: Commissioner of Police, Anambra State, DSP Kiega O/C special Anti-robbery squad, Awkuzu, Aso Ezirih and Mr. Samson to respect the decision of the court pending the determination of the case before it.

The court however, granted bail to the applicant, Mr. Enobakhare with the sum of fifty thousand naira and one surety in the like sum she said that the fundamental human rights of the accused has been infringed upon and needed to exercise his right.
